Hariri to Euronews: I Would Rather Deal with President Putin

Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri said on Friday that his ideological differences with Hezbollah do not mean that they can not work together for the country’s interest.

"We have political differences with Hezbollah and they know that. They will never accept my policies vis-a-vis the gulf and I will never accept their policy vis-a-vis Iran and other issues. But it does mean we should stop the country from functioning," Hariri said in English in an interview with Euronews.

As for the relationship with Russia, Hariri said that he has "very good, perfect relationship with Russia.”

“I have a very good relationship with Russia and I have a good relationship with President Putin that I respect very much. And I believe he is somebody we can work with," he added.

Hariri also said that he would rather deal with President Putin than dealing with Bashar Assad.
