President Aoun partakes in 2nd session of Francophonie Summit
President Michel Aoun is partaking in the second closed session of the 17th Francophonie summit in the Armenian capital Yerevan with Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Gebran Bassil who joined the presidential delegation formed of Caretaker Minister of Culture Ghattas Khoury and Caretaker Minister of Tourism Avedis Guidanian.

President Aoun is scheduled to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron.

On the other hand, Francophone organization Secretary-General, Michaëlle Jean declared in the report she submitted during the summit’s closed session that the organization's Middle East regional office in Beirut will  start operating in 2020.

Jean addressed President Aoun who heads the Lebanese delegation, praising his cooperation and the cooperation of the Lebanese officials with the organization. She also expressed pleasure over the organization's decision to open the office in Beirut.
