White House: Libya’s elections show a commitment to democracy
The White House announced on Thursday that Libya took an important step forward by announcing the results of the elections held this month, adding that these elections show Libya’s commitment to democracy.       

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney issued a statement congratulating all parties and candidates who won seats at Libya’s new 200 member National Council which took place on June 7th.They are the first election since the downfall of Colonel Moammar Gaddafi.
