Syrian refugees in Lebanon struggle to find shelter

The low-income Syrian refugees in Lebanon face the problem of finding a place to live when they arrive to Lebanon.

The decision of Social Affairs ministry and Education Ministry to open public schools in Bekaa for the refugees allowed them to be secure for a period of time until they find solutions to other urgent problems such as food, clothes and even medications.

In this context, LBCI camera went to al-Marej public school, accompanying the mayor of the town and the committee charged with assisting the displaced while the classes were being prepared to welcome families of refugees.

This committee conducted a census to count the people and their needs, and tried to collect donations from the town’s residents.

For his part, Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour told LBCI that he will closely follow up this issue.
