Minister Mrad to LBCI: I represent the Consultative Gathering in the Cabinet

Minister of State for Foreign Trade Hasan Mrad asserted on Friday that he represents the Consultative Gathering in the Cabinet, adding that he will attend both the Consultative Gathering and the Strong Lebanon bloc’s meetings at the same time.

Mrad’s comments were made during an interview with LBCI whereby he said that the representation of the Consultative Gathering in the Cabinet was not the sole obstacle hindering the formation process.

He also said that the Consultative Gathering proved its right to be represented, stressing that it will extend its hand to all to work within the government.

On another note, Mrad clarified that the work of his ministry is related to import and export, promising to work on activating the agreements already established by Lebanon to export Lebanese food products.

Lebanon formed a new national unity government on Thursday, ending nine months of wrangling, and Prime Minister Saad Hariri said bold moves were needed without delay to address chronic problems facing the heavily indebted state.
