Edde to LBCI: National Bloc party is not a sectarian party
Head of the National Bloc party Carlos Edde said on Saturday that the party is not sectarian or Christian, but secular, adding that the goal is not to attract supporters of other political parties.
Edde’s comments were made during an interview with Nharkm TV show whereby he noted that a new head for the party is elected every year and to be a Christian is not a condition to be elected, stressing again the secular concept of the party.
On another note, Edde voiced his rejection to funding the party from abroad, or with suspicious funds.
For his part, member of the executive committee of the party former MP Robert Fadel said that several changes have been made to the party, such as the election of a new head and the transfer of the head's powers to the executive committee, among others.
He also pointed out that the party addresses to 52% of the Lebanese people who did not participate in the last parliamentary elections.
