Trump’s recognition of Israeli Golan Heights continues to draw strong reactions

Amid the condemnation of the International Community, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his gratitude to US President Donald Trump who signed on Monday a decree recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, occupied since 1967.

Meanwhile, the reactions rejecting and regretting Trump’s decision continue, as many protests were staged in Syrian cities, including al-Qneitra and al-Sweida.

Also, Gulf States, including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait, expressed regret over the US decision.

In turn, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani criticized Trump for recognizing the Golan Heights as part of Israel and said the move was against international law.
