Delegation of 11 hostages’ families meets with Plumbly
U.N. Special Coordinator for Lebanon Derek Plumbly met on Thursday with a delegation of families of the 11 Lebanese hostages in Syria; at the UN headquarter in Yarzeh.

Plumbly stressed “the importance of the release of the hostages and their safe return without further delay”.

For its part, the delegation called on the UN to help in securing a safe passage for the hostages on their way back to Lebanon.

The eleven  Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on their way back from Iran by insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap on the 20th of May.

LBCI was successful in establishing live phone contact with the 11 detainees and one of the kidnappers known as "Abu Ibrahim" on Sunday 29th of July, whereby they confirmed that they were in good health and that they were located in the town of Aazaz, rural Aleppo.
