MP Makhzoumi to LBCI: No justifications for consultations postponement

MP Fouad Makhzoumi said on Monday that there is no justification for delaying the binding parliamentary consultations to name a new Prime Minister.

“These are attempts made by caretaker PM Hariri to guarantee his nomination before the consultations,” Makhzoumi said during an interview with LBCI.

“Why is Hariri adamant on forming the Cabinet?,” Makhzoumi asked.

He also noted that he suggested the formation of a rescue Cabinet with a complete project and exempt of any political figure.

On another note, the lawmaker stressed that he is not suggesting himself to be Lebanon’s next Prime Minister, adding however that “if there is a chance to help the country and a consensus was reached over him, he does not mind.”

Makhzoumi concluded by saying that there are attempts to target the revolution, adding that the Lebanese people is aware that the country is facing "a historical chance for change and wont back up."
