President Michel Aoun met on Monday with former MP Faisal Al-Daoud at Baabda Palace, and discussed with him the general situation and recent developments on the Lebanese scene.
Al-Daoud stressed his support for the President's stances, especially his effort to establish a civil state, hoping that the demands of the Lebanese people will be fulfilled in light of the economic conditions that the country is going through.
Al-Daoud pointed out that "President Aoun is, today, able to achieve many of the promises he made to the Lebanese.”
"We also hope that the next government will rescue the country, one that will manage the affairs of the state with a new mentality, especially in the field of fighting corruption, recovering the stolen public funds and launching the economic plan by activating production sectors" al-Daoud said.
Separately, the president received former MP Emile Rahme, who considered that the current stage is a stage that requires concerted efforts to emerge from the crisis.
"The way to achieve this is by forming a government to function and address the deteriorating economic and financial situation in the country" Rahme added, wishing success in forming the Government quickly.
President Aoun also met with former Minister Karim Pakradouni, and held a discussion with him concerning the current political situation and recent developments.
