NATO says 'adjusting' Iraq mission

NATO said Friday it was "adjusting" its mission in Iraq, after officials in the country said the non-combat force had been temporarily withdrawn due to the war in the Middle East.

"We can confirm that we are adjusting our posture in the context of NATO Mission Iraq," alliance spokesperson Allison Hart told AFP in a statement, declining to provide fuller details for security reasons.

NATO was "working in close coordination with Allies and partners" on the matter, she said.
