Gemayel: Wave of abductions takes us back to days of civil war
MP Sami Gemayel said the Lebanese Army must no more stand deactivated with regard to the assaults carried out from the Syrian side against Lebanese territories and citizens.

Gemayel's words came Monday in the context of a press conference he held at the House of Parliament.

He hoped there would be true security in Lebanon in terms of military vehicles patrolling day and night across all the Lebanese regions. "We can no more bear to live a state of perturbation."

On the kidnapping issue Gemayel said that it “takes us back to the days of the civil war,” calling on the Parliament and the Lebanese state to take the necessary measures to put an end to these kidnappings.

A kidnapping wave has been overtaking Lebanon for the past months, escalating to prominence with the Al Mokdad Clan, abducting several Syrian and Turkish nationals.
