Sleiman: Postponement of parliamentary elections out of the question

President Michel Sleiman said that transition towards democracy in the region will motivate Lebanon to improve its democratic performance. In remarks made before a delegation from the Loyalty to the Nation Movement, he said that this can be done through the adoption of a modern electoral law that guarantees just representation for all. “Postponing parliamentary elections is out of question,” he said.       

Sleiman met with Information Minister Walid Daouk and they discussed the situation of the media and the appointment of a new board of directors for the Lebanese state TV – Télé Liban.       

On another note, the General Director of the Directorate of General Security Colonel Abbas Ibrahim briefed the president on the security situation.
