A calm atmosphere prevailed in Tripoli on Monday, even in Syria Street which separates Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tebbaneh and which has been the  witness of sporadic violence.

Preparations are ongoing in al-Tal Square for the expected sit-in which will include speeches calling for the disclosure of the fate of the young Lebanese who fell victim of the Tal Kalakh ambush.

Earlier, the National News Agency reported that an Energa shell fell on Monday morning over the region of Tebbaneh – Syria Street, without exploding.

In this context, sources told LBCI that Alawites in Jabal Mohsen are opting for remaining indoors for fears of kidnappings. These fears stem from threats  that prevailed following the  death of several Lebanese men in Syria's Talkalakh area. According to the sources, Alawites have been warned that they would be kidnapped and exchanged for the detained men, or in return for their bodies.

However, since the exact death toll of the group that entered Talkalakh has not yet been confirmed, the sit-in tent set up in al-Mankoubin area remains, while reports say that another sit-in may be staged at Rashid Karami roundabout following evening prayers.                   

It is worth mentioning that the Lebanese Army closed all the entrances to Jabal Mohsen, except the Mallouleh entrance in order to prevent any reaction.
