UN calls for speeding up the launching of national dialogue in Yemen

The United Nations called on political parties in Yemen on Tuesday to accelerate the launching of the national dialogue, warning those who are disrupting it.

The U.N. envoy to Yemen Jamal Bin Omar told the U.N. Security Council that the transitional process is threatened by those who have not yet understood the necessity of change, adding “many tried to disrupt this process and exploit instability.”

Bin Omar stressed that the Yemeni government must, in turn, take confidence measures to address the southerners’ demands to create an appropriate atmosphere for the launching of the national dialogue.
