Bassil: the countdown has begun until the arrival of energy production ships

Energy Minister Gebran Bassil said on Friday that after funding the Turkish energy production ships, the countdown has begun until their arrival to Lebanon.

In a press conference, Bassil said that the Turkish company may be charged from now on if it delays in the arrival of the ships seemingly since the contract states that the first vessel is due in 4 months, with the second due in 6 months.

"We are imposing pressures so the ships arrive earlier to Lebanon," Bassil added.

As for the Deir Amar power plant, Bassil said that the Ministry raised a report regarding this issue to the cabinet, stressing that he is trying to save the state's money.
