MP Sami Gemayel: Hezbollah using Lebanon as the rear base of Syrian conflict

Kataeb Party's Central Committee Coordinator MP Sami Gemayel said on Monday that Hezbollah has admitted that it is officially taking part in the Syrian crisis, noting that this matter has severe repercussions on Lebanon which has become the “rear base for the conflict in Syria”.

Commenting on the issue of the elections in a speech he delivered following the regular meeting of the party’s political bureau, Gemayel called on all parties to deploy further efforts in order to reach common ground, stressing the need to implement a number of reforms among which is the formation of a Senate, applying administrative decentralization and passing a new electoral law.

“We are open to all suggestions and we have presented five proposals, all of which have been rejected,” he stated.
