REPORT: MP Gemayel: The Kataeb battle will not end before reaching ‘Greater Lebanon’

The Kataeb party Central committee Coordinator MP Sami Gemayel said on Sunday that Lebanon’s only choice is struggling and adhering to the country’s best interests.

During the Lebanese Kataeb Executive Forum held at the Forum De Beirut, MP Gemayel said that battles are not between Lebanese factions, but against all those trying to achieve victory over the Lebanese freedom and sovereignty and added that they will revolt against any political performance based on dishonesty.

As for the issue of the cabinet, MP Gemayel reiterated his party’s support to Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam and wished him luck in forming a new cabinet that works for saving Lebanon.

“We are supporting MP Tammam Salam in 2013 as he supported us in 1992 when he boycotted the elections,” MP Gemayel said.

Gemayel called on PM-Designate Salam to work for ratifying a new electoral law that ensures the representation of all Lebanese parties and protects Lebanon from any internal security breakdown.

Gemayel called on all Lebanese citizens to revolt in order to protect Lebanon stressing that the Kataeb Party will revolt against any security breach since “the Lebanese state does have the dignity to deal with its sovereignty and is accepting illegitimate weapons”.

“We invented ‘consensual security’, a concept which is against security,” Gemayel said.

In this regard, MP Gemayel referred to the Secretary General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah by asking him if the Syrian regime is worth sending fighters to die in Syria.

On the economic file, Gemayel called for a revolution against the policies of axes, central state and the ways in which officials are dealing with the economic situation and urged them to dissociate Lebanon from the region’s crisis seemingly “since Lebanon is on the edge of a new civil”.

“Tripoli is living a daily civil war, and dissociation does not mean isolation,” Gemayel said.

MP Gemayel ended his word by saying that “the battle of the Kataeb party will not end before reaching Greater Lebanon”.
