MP George Adwan stressed the approach of the budget does not fulfill the requirements of the current difficult situation.
In an intervention during the Parliament evening session on Tuesday, the MP said that the measures presented by the 2019 budget draft law constitute a step forward, but they remain small and not enough, pointing out that the amendments introduced by the Finance and Budget Committee to some of the items moved towards an important reform direction.
Adwan stressed the need to put an end to the state of denial towards the living conditions and the financial and economic situation, noting that “everyone acts as if the situation is normal.”
He also said that “if there will be no cabinet session dedicated to the closure of accounts, then this constitutes a new constitutional violation.”
