Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections "LADE" called on on Friday the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities to issue an immediate and urgent circular confirming compliance with the implementation of the law that prohibits primary registration committees from including any new name on the eligible voters’ lists after March 25, 2022, according to the third paragraph of Article 89 of the Elections Law 44/2017.
The association had learned that the Ministry of Interior would issue a circular on Thursday, May 12th, prohibiting the inclusion of any name on the voters’ lists, lest the electoral machines of candidates and parties take advantage of the matter ahead of the parliamentary elections on May 15th.
But to the date of this statement, the Ministry of Interior has not issued any circular in this regard.
