Syria renews call for the handover of MPs Hariri and Saqr

Syrian Minister of Justice Ahmad Najem said on Thursday that there are external forces supporting terrorist groups within Syria, leading reference to the issue of former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and MP Oqab Sakr’s alleged involvement in the arming of rebels.

Najem added that the judicial proceedings against them have been advancing in Damascus and the indictment has been issued by the first investigating judge in Damascus.

In an interview with al-Baath newspaper, Najem said, "We asked the Interpol to hand over Hariri and Sakr, and we will continue in this claim. Here we put the credibility of this organization at the test should it refuse to deal with us and accept our proofs.”

There are claims that will also be raised soon, most notably against the Turkish and the Tunisian government, he added.
