Mikati says LAF must be fair with all citizens

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met on Thursday with the Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Jean Kahwagi at the Grand Serail, where they discussed the investigations launched by the army command into videos and photos that are being circulated depicting scenes from Sidon’s incidents.

In this context, Mikati called on the army to be fair and just in dealing with all citizens, stressing that the military institution is under the law and acts under the State’s supervision.

On another note, Mikati met with the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Derek Plumbly who voiced support for the LAF in its mission.

Also among Mikati’s visitors was Turkish ambassador to Lebanon Aignan Oozldez who said that there are no new developments concerning the case of the Lebanese hostages in Aazaz.
