Judge Zaani follows up on dispute between MP Gemyal, civil society activists

Military Court Judge Dani Zaani is following up on the preliminary investigations in order to reveal the circumstances of the dispute that erupted between Kataeb MP Nadim Gemayel's convoy and civil society activists.

In this regard, Judge Zaani listened to the testimonies of 10 persons pending to receive a number of videotapes and the tape that was broadcasted by a television channel.

On Saturday, MP Gemayel said that his convoy was attacked with sticks, stones and tomatoes on Friday by protesters opposing the extension of the parliament's mandate.

He added that the attack took place in Ashrafieh by protesters returning from the sit-in staged in Beirut.

MP Gemayel lashed out any intention that he could be targeted personally, saying that the convoy managed to push back the attackers as the Internal Security Forces rushed to the scene.
