Maronite Patriarch Rai: Leaders deepen divisions among Lebanese people

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai criticized on Sunday Lebanese leaders for covering up "the crimes committed by the rule of weapons", and for deepening divisions among the Lebanese people.

During his Sunday sermon, Patriarch Rai said that the Lebanese leaders are paralyzing the constitutional institutions and are violating the law, thus, "destabilizing internal security."

Last month, Patriarch Rai slammed both March 8 and 14 alliances for “deforming Lebanon’s image.”

He also called for national reconciliation among Lebanese politicians.
