Ministerial committee tackles issue of Syrian businesses in Lebanon

Members of the ministerial committee tasked with following up on the case of Syrian refugees in Lebanon convened on Tuesday at the Grand Serail whereby it discussed the issue of the small Syrian shops that are competing with the Lebanese local market.

Caretaker Minister of Economy Nicolas Nahhas said that various Lebanese regions had been surveyed after complaints had been raised by Lebanese nationals in this regard.

Nahhas added that a campaign to close these shops will be launched as of the coming week since “displaced person may not receive aid while violating the laws and regulations of the host country”.
