President Sleiman slams all attempts to hold LAF responsible for minor mistakes

   
President Michel Sleiman delivered a speech at the Shukri Ghanem barracks in Fayyadiyeh whereby he noted that "there is an urgent need to consider the national defense strategy especially since Hezbollah's weapons are being used off Lebanese grounds".        

On the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the Army Day, President Sleiman also noted that the Lebanese state is the sole authorized entity to defend the Lebanese citizens' rights and to preserve plurality.       

In this regard, Sleiman slammed all attempts to hold the military institution responsible for minor mistakes, noting that the Lebanese Armed Forces are in need of a campaign of support not one of opposition.                

Separately, Sleiman said he will wait no longer to protect the Lebanese institutions and to safeguard the military institution, calling for the formation of a new government that shall work on addressing problems in Lebanon, mainly the file of Syrian refugees.           

President Sleiman also stressed the need to hold the parliamentary elections as soon as possible, adding that no one could undermine the public opinion.
