Former MP Salim Aoun stressed on Wednesday that the memory of August 7 recalls the struggle of the Lebanese youths during the previous stage, in reference to the military presence of Syrian forces in Lebanon, stressing that those who were benefiting from these forces are now enjoying "freedom, sovereignty and independence."                 

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Aoun expressed his support for a change in the Syrian regime if the alternative were a democratic system that respects human rights, not “a regime ruled by heart eaters,” as he said.                      

Commenting on the Syrian violations in Lebanon, the former deputy said that the Syrian regime and its defectors are both involved in the attacks targeting the Lebanese territories.
