Ministry of Labor urges for the employment of Lebanese nationals

Lebanon's Ministry of Labor urged on Tuesday employers and owners of private firms to employ Lebanese labor force and not substituting employees with foreign workers.

The Ministry issued a statement in this regard in which it said that any violating firm will be sanctioned as per the effective Lebanese laws.

The number of foreign workers are increasing in Lebanon due to the massive influx of refugees into the country fleeing the bloodshed taking place in Syria.

Foreign workers in Lebanon are mainly Syrians alongside nationals from Sri Lanka, the Philippines, India, Egypt and African countries.
