Berri says his initiative facilitates formation of cabinet

House Speaker Nabih Berri said he is still awaiting the return of the delegation he had tasked with briefing all Lebanese officials on his dialogue initiative in hopes of determining the reactions to the said suggestion.                 

During the Wednesday periodic meeting, Speaker Berri noted that his initiative had received the approval of various Lebanese factions, adding that it aims at facilitating the formation of the cabinet.                          

As part of its tour, a delegation from the Development and Liberation bloc visited the Head of the Lebanese Democratic Party MP Talal Arslan who voiced his support to the initiative, expressing his hope for its success.           

The delegation also met with the Tashnag Party MP Hagop Pakradounian who said following the meeting that Speaker Berri's initiative is positive, hoping that political factions hold national dialogue sessions at the soonest time possible.             

On the 31st of August, Speaker Berri proposed to President Michel Sleiman a road map that aims at leading Lebanon out of the current situation through holding dialogue sessions and controlling the border region with Syria through banning gunmen from crossing the borders and arresting arm smuggling cells.
