Hale calls on Lebanese authorities to deal responsibly with case of Syrian refugees

The US ambassador to Lebanon David Hale stressed Thursday the importance of following up on meetings held by Lebanese President Michel Sleiman with his US counterpart Barack Obama, noting that his country will be granting Lebanon USD 112 million.

He pointed out that the US' assistance will be dedicated to upgrading the capabilities of the Lebanese security forces in controlling the situation at the borders and meeting the basic needs of the Syrian refugees.

Following his meeting with the Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam at his residence in Msaytbeh, Hale reiterated the United States support to Lebanon.
