Salam: Lebanon faces political crisis that threatens the Lebanese structure

The Prime Minister Designate Tammam Salam said Thursday that the anniversary of the Independence comes while the country faces a political crisis, the repercussions of which threaten the national entity and the Lebanese structure.

In a statement issued on the occasion of the Independence Day, Salam said that Lebanon is witnessing several risks due to the internal disputes between the Lebanese parties and the regional conflicts, leading to an escalation of the political rhetoric of the leaders. He noted that the latest developments have hindered the democratic action and paralyzed the constitutional institutions.

In this context, Salam said that any unconstitutional attempt to solve the national crisis will fail and will negatively affect the country, stressing that the explosions that have been targeting several Lebanese regions proved the dangerousness of the situation.
