Judge Saqr: DNA tests prove that Mouein Adnan Abou Daher is the 1st Iranian Embassy suicide attacker
 
State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr said on Saturday that DNA tests proved that Mouein Adnan Abou Daher is the suicide attacker who blew himself up outside the gate of the Iranian Embassy in Beirut’s region of Bir Hassan on Tuesday the 19th of November.  

Judge Saqr added that authorities are proceeding with investigations to reveal the circumstances of the attack.               

In turn, the family of Mouein Abou Daher said that their son is not related to the radical Sunni cleric Sheikh Ahmad Assir.                     

Sources reported to LBCI on Friday that Mouein’s father, Adnan Abou Daher, recognized the photo of his son Mouein which was circulated on Thursday by the Guidance Directorate and headed to the Defense Ministry where he assured that his son was unreachable for two months; however, contacted him from Syria few days before the explosion.                                

A double suicide attack targeted on Tuesday, November 19 the Iranian embassy in south Beirut’s Bir Hassan region, killing at least 23 people, wounding 146 and damaging buildings in the embassy compound.      

Live footage from local news channels showed charred bodies on the ground as flames rose from the remains of several vehicles. Aid workers and residents carried away some of the victims on blankets.                        

Caretaker Health Minister Ali Hassan Khalil stated that the Cultural Attache of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sheikh Ibrahim Ansari was killed in the blasts. Ansari took his post in Lebanon a month ago and was overseeing all regional cultural activities.        

The Abdullah Azzam brigades, a Lebanon-based al-Qaeda affiliate, said it was behind a double suicide attack on the Iranian embassy.
