Caretaker PM Mikati: We will do our utmost to end Tripoli's incidents

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned on Saturday the shooting that targeted persons from Jabal Mohsen, noting that he has asked the security forces to act "firmly and seriously" in this regard.

Following his meeting with Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East John X Yazigi in Balamand, Mikati stressed that measures will be implemented by the security forces in Tripoli, and said: "We will do our utmost to put an end to Tripoli's incidents".

This as, Mikati noted that "Arab Democratic Party leader former MP Ali Eid is accused of being involved in Tripoli's twin blasts whereas the Arab Democratic Party Secretary-General Refaat Eid is accused of "verbal attacks" against the security forces," noting that investigations are ongoing.

Separately, Mikati stressed that the concerned authorities are following up on the two abducted bishops' dossier, hoping to hear good news soon.

On April 22, Bishops Boulos Yazigi of the Greek Orthodox Church and John Ibrahim of the Assyrian Orthodox Church were kidnapped while they were traveling outside the northern city of Aleppo.
