Bassil: Holding a cabinet session to tackle oil file lies in hands of Future Movement

Caretaker Energy Minister Gebran Bassil said on Monday that outgoing Prime Minister Najib Mikati is maintaining the interests of the Future Bloc, adding that all March 14 components were represented at the cabinet.

Following a meeting with House Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh, Bassil said "the possibility of holding a cabinet session to tackle the oil exploration file lies in the hands of the Future movement."

Minister Bassil added that reluctance in taking decisions pertaining to the mentioned file is negatively affecting the Lebanese economy, pointing out that the meeting with Speaker Berri aimed at protecting the Lebanese oil wealth.
