Abducted Syrian national freed in Lebanon's Bekaa

Syrian national Fadi Mohammad al-Jasem was released on Saturday in the Bekaa region of Tamnin after he was kidnapped earlier by unknown assailants in the area of al-Karak in Zahle.

The kidnappers attacked al-Jasem and robbed him an amount of 100,000 LBP. They gave only 20,000 LBP and a one-week deadline to return to Syria.

Al-Jasem was abducted from his residence in Zahle by unknown assailants driving a silver minivan.

His cousin, Mohammed, tried to rescue him but the assailants shot him in the leg.

Mohammad was taken to the Hraoui Governmental Hospital for treatment.
