Israeli soldiers cross barbed wire in Wazzani region

25 Israeli soldiers crossed on Tuesday morning the barbed wire in al-Wazzani area and deployed in the eastern side of the river, the state-run National News Agency reported.

Later on, they withdrew and headed back towards the occupied territories.

On Monday, the Lebanese and the Israeli army on both sides of the border south of Lebanon were in a state of high alert, the state run National News Agency reported.

This comes after Israeli soldiers had crossed the barbed wire Sunday night after the Lebanese army had insisted on removing an Israeli espionage device planted 70 meters inside the borders marked by the barbed wire fence in the southern town of Odeissi.

The UNIFIL had intervened to resolve the dispute, which consequently ended with Israeli soldiers dismantling the said device.
