State Department reiterates warning to US citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon

The US State Department renewed its warning to its citizens to avoid all travel to Lebanon, expressing concerns over the latest events related to the country’s security.

The US Embassy in Beirut declared Saturday that the US State Department called on its citizens to reconsider any plans to travel to Lebanon, taking into consideration the dangers threatening the country’s stability.

In this context, the embassy urged the US citizens who travel to Lebanon to sign up for Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) in order to get the latest security updates.

However, the embassy said that the United States will continue supporting the Lebanese people and the Lebanese institutions in order to maintain stability.
