UNIFIL patrol pelted by rocks in South Lebanon

The state-run National News Agency reported on Friday that a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) patrol was pelted by rocks by residents of the southern town of Aita al-Shaab.

The agency added that the incident took place while the patrol members were taking photographs of the area.

No one was reportedly injured in the incident, but damage was incurred to the vehicles.

This as UNIFIL Commander Major General Paolo Serra voiced his concern over the incident, adding that it jeopardizes UNIFIL mission in the area.

"An investigation by UNIFIL and the Lebanese army has been opened in the attack," he added.
