Following their escape, Lebanese Armed Forces soldiers were able to re-arrest Al-Jouni and Sabra, while the third inmate Abdel Rahman remained on the run.
In the same regard, Interior Minister Nouhad Mashnouq reported that those responsible for the negligence will be penalized.
For his part, State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr tasked Military Tribunal Judge Sami Sader with investigating the incident.
It is worth noting that inmates who escaped the prison are accused of killing Lebanese Armed Forces officer, Rayan Al-Jurdi, during the robbery of BLOM Bank Elissar's branch in 2012.
