Frem to LBCI: 2014 will be one of the hardest years due to rain shortage

Director General of Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute Michel Frem stressed on Wednesday that rainfall in the last two days does not compensate for the loss since there is a huge lack of precipitation.

In an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV show, Frem said 2014 will be one of the hardest years due to rain shortage and its negative repercussions on the environment, agriculture and citizens.

"Rain that could possibly fall in March and April will not be enough to supply surface water and groundwater," he added.
