Faraon to LBCI: Lebanon’s interest must be in line with the Arab League’s

MP Michel Faraon told Nharkom Said that the current government’s priority is the protection of the Syrian regime and Hezbollah arms, adding that by doing so, it is taking Lebanon back to the period of Syrian tutelage.

Faraon said that Lebanon cannot protect its border with Syria in the absence of a common mechanisms agreed upon by the two countries.      “Lebanon’s interest must be in line with the Arab League’s interest”.

Faraon called for dialogue to protect Lebanon from the Syrian-Iranian axis, adding that he refuses to go back to the dialogue table in light of the current government.

“The international community is relieved to see Hezbollah commit to UNSC Resolution 170”, he said adding that the party can provide more protection to the UNIFIL, and ban launching missiles from the south.
