Jumblatt: Lebanese politics have become devoid of political ethics

Head of the National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt criticized “trapping the Lebanese citizens for hours in their vehicles due to the tight security measures that accompanied the March 14 festival held on Friday,” describing it as the “festival of poetry and eloquence, where the finest speeches were delivered.”

“Speeches that the Lebanese citizens stuck in their cars along the highways may not be interested in,” he said sarcastically.

In his weekly statement to al-Anbaa website, Jumblatt noted that “life has burdened the Lebanese people to suffer the ministerial sophisticated debates pertaining to the policy statement.”

On another note, the MP saluted the innocent martyrs who fell victims of ignorance and hatred and paid a huge price with their lives without them being involved, he said on the occasion of March 16th, the day of remembrance of the assassination of his father Kamal Jumblatt.

In this regard, Jumblatt said that his father had always been committed to the concepts of social justice, freedom and democracy as well as to the Palestinian cause, while insisting on the need to implement reforms to the Lebanese political system.

“Fate would have it that Kamal Jumblatt was taken from us before he could witness the unprecedented debasement of Lebanese politics that have become devoid of the political ethics,” he added.
