Gunmen kidnap Georges Tahmazyan in Baalbek town of Shlifa

The state-run National News Agency reported on Thursday that a man was kidnapped from his Cherokee Laredo car in the region of Baalbek.

The agency added that gunmen in a yellow Toyota FJ Cruiser and a white Grand Cherokee kidnapped a Lebanese citizen identified as Georges Tahmazyan after intercepting his car nearby the Dar al-Ajaza al-Islamia center in the Baalbek town of Shlifa.

The kidnap-for-ransom phenomenon increased last year, while it has been strongly criticized by Lebanese officials.
