Lebanese army takes full control of Northern Bekaa international road

The state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday that the Lebanese Armed Forces have taken full control of Northern Bekaa international road extending from Arsal, Hermel to Baalbek.

The Lebanese army also took over all checkpoints and removed all illegal armed presence on the said highway, the agency said, adding that LAF units inspected vehicles in search of explosives.

This comes as a prelude to the full-fledged security plan that aims to restore stability in Bekaa.
