Al-Sayegh to LBCI: The presidential elections will be held as scheduled
The adviser to former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Daoud al-Sayegh stressed Sunday that Lebanon is an equilibrium model for the world, noting that “the Lebanese entity is strong and will not allow a certain situation to break it.”

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, al-Sayegh said that electing a president is a normal procedure, stating that the presidential elections will take place as scheduled.

“Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea has the right to run for president, and if March 14 forces reached agreement over his candidacy, then there is no problem,” he added.

In this regard, al-Sayegh pointed out that there is a chance that the new president will be elected based on a regional-international agreement in a bid to preserve Lebanon’s stability, stressing that this does not mean that the president will be weak.
