Minister Bassil: Lebanon is not concerned with any Israeli-Palestinian agreement
Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil stated on Monday that expressing empathy with the Palestinian cause does not require proof, stressing that the naturalization of Palestinians in Lebanon will create a significant demographic imbalance.

Bassil said in a press conference that rejecting the naturalization of Palestinians is a position that comes for the benefit Lebanon, stressing that the country's infrastructure is incapable of handling such a burden.

Minister Bassil also pointed out that Lebanon is not concerned with any agreement between Israel and Palestine, emphasizing that giving up on the Palestinian right of return is a declaration of the Jewish state and the consequent displacement of the Palestinian people.

He also said that the Arab Peace Initiative has not changed, stating that it is based on a fixed trilogy equation evident in three principles being the delineation of borders, the status of Jerusalem, and the refugee issue.
