Ambassador Asiri says Salam's visit to Saudi Arabia 'highly important'

Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awad Asiri highlighted on Sunday the importance of Prime Minister Tammam Salam's expected visit to the kingdom, noting that it aims to strengthen brotherly ties.

The ambassador also praised the Lebanese government under PM Salam, noting that the cabinet has managed to take major decisions on the administrative and security levels.

"We hope Lebanon's presidential elections would be a prelude to further prosperity and calm," he said.

In this regard, Asiri urged Saudi and Lebanese private sectors to uphold interaction between them and to put economic strategies which serve both countries' interests.

PM Salam is set to travel on Monday to Saudi Arabia where he will meet with senior officials.
