Berri meets Iranian ambassador Rokenabadi on a farewell visit

Speaker Nabih Berri met on Tuesday at Ain Tineh with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ghazanfar Rokenabadi who came on a farewell visit upon the end of his mission in Lebanon.

Following the meeting, Rokenabadi reiterated that Iran backs the holding of the presidential elections “upon the consent of all Lebanese people.”

"We tackled the latest regional and international developments and the prospects for cooperation between the two countries," Rokenabadi added. He also thanked Berri for his efforts aimed at strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Lebanon and Iran, in addition to his support to Hezbollah.

"We agreed on the need to maintain stability in Lebanon and the importance of solidarity in the face of the common Israeli enemy," the Ambassador concluded by saying.
