Former Deputy Speaker Elie Ferezli: Berri supports Aoun for the presidency

Former Deputy Speaker Elie Ferezli told LBCI on Thursday that Speaker Nabih Berri became the “direct ally of Change and Reform bloc head MP Michel Aoun.”

Ferezli also noted that Berri supports Aoun in the presidential bid, adding that the Lebanese Speaker will hold deliberations regarding the new electoral law.

On another note, Ferezli hailed the latest rapprochement between the Free Patriotic Movement and the Future movement.

On Wednesday, Change and Reform Bloc leader MP Michel Aoun met Speaker Nabih Berri at his residence in Ain el-Tineh.

Following the meeting, MP Aoun stated that his bloc's participation in parliamentary sessions aimed at electing a president is still under discussion, pointing out that this matter requires further study and understanding.

He also mentioned that he discussed with Speaker Berri the presidential entitlement as well as the work of the cabinet and parliament.
