PM Salam says a fierce, immoral and inhumane terrorist campaign targets Lebanon

Prime Minister Tammam Salam reassured the Lebanese people that the security apparatuses were able to thwart terrorist attacks, stressing that precautionary procedures will continue to be implemented in order to safeguard the country’s security.

In a speech he delivered following the cabinet session, Salam noted that Lebanon needs all its neighboring countries, mainly the Gulf States, pointing out that the concerned authorities have the duty to prevent terrorists from infiltrating the country.

“Lebanon has been the target of a fierce, immoral and inhumane terrorist campaign, which aims at undermining its national unity,” he stated.

On another note, the PM said that the cabinet is seeking agreement, rather than voting, to resolve all the issues, revealing that the file of the Lebanese University has not yet been finalized and was postponed until next week’s session.

Regarding the media, Salam called on the Lebanese media outlets to be cautious in covering the security events, noting that exposing all information may not serve the country’s interests.
